PhenoDrive substrates are synthetic biomaterials containing molecular cues that mimic certain aspects of structure or function of natural extracellular microenvironments
PhenoDrive substrates are made of hyperbranched molecules, dendrons which at their uppermost molecular branches expose specific bioligands which are able to control Integrin clustering in many types of cells.
PhenoDrive substrates are provided in dry powder form which are readily solubilised in ethanol and can be used to coat all types of tissue culture plasticware, glassware and porous 3D scaffolds.

PhenoDrive substrates facilitate the culture and testing of relevant cell phenotypes in the form of spheroids and/or co-culture models, which closely simulate tissue microenvironments (e.g. stem cell niche, epithelia, cancer mass, hepatocytes spheroids, hypoxic environments).
PhenoDrive biomimetics can be adapted to both 2D and 3D culture conditions and may be applied to most commonly used plasticware including 96- and 24-well plates, T-flasks, transwell’s, chamber slides and 3D scaffolds
PhenoDrive substrates are particularly recommended for the serum free culture of adult stem cells to facilitate their organisation into spheroids with preserved progenitor phenotype in a controlled and reproducible way.

Phenodrives are a class of specialised cell substrates. They are suitable for seeding and growing of cells in serum-free medium.
The listed Phenodrive formulations indicate the best substrate for the best cell phenotype.
Phenodrive Universal favours interactions with the cell glycocalyx and does not directly target the cell integrins
